Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing the piano at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship within Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan; it was later remixed by a variety of producers and has become the mainstay of her live set. She also contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
